From a young age, Asia developed a deep passion for dogs and the unique relationship that exists between people and their canine companions. What began as an early love for dogs grew into a professional career built around one goal: helping dogs and people learn how to communicate with one another and become the best team they can be.
Asia attended Highland School for Dog Trainers, where she graduated with an A and earned her certification as a Certified Professional Trainer. Although she has been training dogs professionally for three years, she has been immersed in the professional dog industry for approximately six years. Her experience has given her the opportunity to work with a wide range of dogs and handlers, from family pets to working dogs and professional teams.
Her philosophy is rooted in balanced training. Asia believes dogs should clearly understand both what is expected of them and what behaviors are appropriate or inappropriate. She believes in giving dogs structure, clear communication, boundaries, and the tools necessary to succeed while maintaining a strong relationship between dog and handler. Her training may incorporate tools such as prong collars and electronic collars when appropriate, always with the goal of creating clarity and communication rather than simply correcting behavior.
While Asia loves helping family dogs become better companions, her greatest passion lies in service dogs, therapy dogs, detection dogs, and search-and-rescue dogs. She has had the opportunity to train teams involving pet dogs, police dogs, search dogs, and therapy dogs, giving her experience across multiple disciplines.
For Asia, training is never simply about teaching a dog commands. It is about developing a team. A well-trained dog and a capable handler must understand one another, communicate effectively, and work together confidently in the real world. Asia takes pride in helping direct that relationship and giving handlers the knowledge they need to continue building their partnership long after training is complete.
Training
At Summit Canine Training, Asia's approach to training is centered around communication, structure, balance, and real-world reliability.
She believes that training should prepare dogs for life beyond the training facility. Whether a dog is destined to be a beloved family companion, a service dog, therapy dog, search-and-rescue K9, detection dog, hunting partner, or another working dog, the foundation remains the same: clear communication and a strong relationship between the dog and handler.
Asia enjoys working with dogs across a wide range of abilities and disciplines and believes that the principles learned through professional working-dog training can also greatly benefit everyday pet dogs.
Her experience working with pet owners and professional handlers allows her to look beyond simply teaching the dog. She focuses on teaching the human half of the team as well — helping handlers understand their dogs, recognize communication, establish boundaries, reinforce appropriate behaviors, and confidently navigate the world together.
Her ultimate goal is for every team to leave Summit Canine Training with more than a trained dog. They leave with greater knowledge, better communication, and the ability to continue succeeding together.
Breeding
Asia's passion for training naturally led her toward breeding.
Rather than breeding simply to produce puppies, she wanted to create dogs that could excel in the same real-world fields she is passionate about training for. This vision became the foundation of the Summit Canines breeding program.
Asia chose the Golden Retriever because of the breed's remarkable versatility, trainability, temperament, athleticism, and ability to succeed across many different disciplines. Her goal is to produce Golden Retrievers capable of becoming exceptional companions while also having the qualities necessary to perform meaningful work.
At Summit Canines, the goal is simple:

Asia strives to produce dogs with the health, temperament, trainability, workability, confidence, and versatilityneeded to succeed in real-world work — including service work, therapy work, search and rescue, detection, hunting, sporting activities, and active family life.
The breeding program is built around thoughtful puppy development from the very beginning. Puppies are introduced to Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), appropriate noise desensitization, confidence-building exercises, socialization, environmental exposure, and real-world outings from a young age.
Asia believes that what happens during a puppy's earliest weeks can have a profound impact on the adult dog that puppy becomes. Puppies are given opportunities to experience different environments, sounds, surfaces, people, situations, and challenges in age-appropriate ways so they can develop into confident, adaptable dogs.
Temperament evaluation is another important part of the program. Asia carefully evaluates puppies as individuals to better understand their strengths, drives, confidence, resilience, trainability, and overall temperament. This information helps guide thoughtful placement into homes and working careers where each puppy has the greatest opportunity to succeed.
Health is equally important. The goal is not only to produce dogs that can work, but dogs that can live long, healthy, functional lives while doing it. Health testing, responsible breeding decisions, puppy development, and appropriate early care all play an important role in the Summit Canines program.
For Asia, breeding and training are inseparable. She wants to produce dogs that have the natural qualities necessary to succeed and then give those dogs the foundation and experiences needed to reach their potential.
Grooming
Asia's career with dogs began in another part of the industry as well. She started grooming dogs at 16 years old in Texas before eventually returning to the Big Sky State, Montana, where she was born and raised.
Grooming became another way for Asia to care for dogs from a whole-dog perspective.
She believes grooming is about much more than making a dog look beautiful. It is an opportunity to provide care, maintenance, observation, comfort, and transformation while helping owners better understand their dog's needs.
Asia enjoys the artistry of grooming and the transformation that takes place throughout the process, but just as importantly, she values the relationship and trust that develops between the dog, groomer, and owner.
Her goal is for every dog that leaves her care to look and feel their best — and for every owner to feel that their dog has received the highest level of care and attention to detail.
The Summit Canine Philosophy
Although training, breeding, and grooming are different services, Asia believes they all come back to the same foundation:
Whole-dog care.
A great dog is not created through one training session, one grooming appointment, or one breeding decision. It is built through health, development, education, communication, structure, care, and a strong human-canine relationship.
Asia's mission through Summit Canine Training is to improve that relationship from every direction — helping owners understand their dogs, helping handlers become stronger teammates, developing puppies with purpose, and caring for dogs throughout every stage of their lives.
Whether she is developing a future working K9, preparing a service dog team, building a search-and-rescue partnership, raising a puppy, training a family companion, or transforming a dog through grooming, Asia strives for the same outcome:
